MEET BENJAMIN

Benjamin is a Jacksonville native who has led his life with the belief that government should be of, by, and for the people. A product of the Florida Public School System, In 2022 he graduated from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts with his arts seal in musical theatre. He currently works as an assistant preschool teacher at The Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd.

In January of 2023, he began studying political science at the University of Central Florida, where he ran for and won a seat in the student body senate representing the College of Sciences. During his time in the Senate, he served as the Vice Chair of the Legislative, Judicial, and Rules Committee. He helped pass multiple pieces of legislation allocating funds to RSOs so they could participate in activities to help their members reach their fullest potential. He also helped to plan and facilitate the second annual Black Business showcase on the UCF campus, as well as led the charge to increase braille signage on campus to make the UCF experience more accessible for everyone.

As your state representative Benjamin would carry on the same energy. Florida should be a state where everyone feels welcome and cared for. He believes that together, we can make it happen.
